POLICE, MRS GLOBE SA & SANCA VISIT
On 2 March the Midrand SAPS and Sanca visited Glen Austin High School to talk about the importance of abstaining from substance abuse. The learners were motivated to talk through what they are feeling and experiencing rather than trying to forget the pain through the use of substances. The learners were reminded about the negative impact of bullying and were told to speak out if they were bullied. Sanca also demonstrated a fun way to help the learners remember why education is fun.
Mrs Globe SA also visited the school on the same day. She spoke to the learners about meeting their goals even through the tough circumstances that may arise through the journey of life. She shared her life story with the learners. She told them about her journey and how she grew up in poverty and without any friends. She motivated them to stay in school and to ensure that they work hard so that they can go to a good university that will help them to become successful one day.
